Welcome to The Guitar Mule, Southampton's leading private music school specialising in guitar and bass tuition.
The Guitar Mule is already an established online guitar tuition website launched in 2007 by Loz Dewey and has expanded in 2010 to open the new studio's (in association with MM Music's The Guitar Store in Southampton). We now offer private guitar and bass lessons at The Guitar Store, 66 Commercial Road, Southampton.
If you are looking for guitar or bass lessons in Southampton, we have it all covered at The Guitar Mule studios with our team of professional music tutors. The fully equipped modern studios and reception area add to a relaxed and professional learning experience for everyone, any age from beginner to advanced players.
All lessons take place in one of the three fully equipped studio's, all you need is a guitar and if that's not possible you can use one of our in house guitars.
The Guitar Mule studios are kitted out to a high specification including Vox and Line 6 amplifiers, Apple Mac laptops with the latest guitar and recording software including Amplitube and Logic Studio, Cambridge Audio/Wharfdale HiFi systems, a huge selection of scores and mp3's plus high speed broadband.
For early arrivals or parents waiting we have a comfortable reception area with TV, WiFi,W.C and free tea and coffee.
There is parking right outside or it's a 1 min walk from the train station (yep it's that close).


So what do we teach?

The Guitar Mule specialises in:
Acoustic, electric and bass guitar from beginner to advanced levels in Rock, Blues, Metal, Slide guitar, Finger style, Punk, Country, Folk, Jazz and dedicated classical guitar lessons.
You can learn for pleasure or serious study, all lessons are constructed to suit your needs by using songs and studies in the genres you are interested in and combining accurate and useful theory elements to accompany the music you're learning.
If you are interested in grades, The Guitar Mule offers full tuition using the Rock School syllabus grades 1 though to 8 which can be used to gain entry to music collage courses and add to UCAS points for University music degrees. We also offer exam preparation for GCSE and A level music.
Including guitar and bass tuition we also offer a full beginners course for the ukulele, banjo and mandolin which takes you through those first steps to competently play these wonderful stringed instruments.

Now with the new team of tutors at The Guitar Mule we can offer just that little bit more which includes piano tuition from our very own in house tutor Aidan Hampson and lessons from the more computer based side of music using Logic Studio with certified Logic trainer and guitar instructor Stu Brewer.
